The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust (LHRT) Grant Programs offer financial assistance, community placemaking grants, and sponsorship opportunities to support local businesses, organizations, and residents within the Little Haiti boundaries of the City of Miami.
Small Business
The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust (LHRT) Small Business Grant Program provides financial assistance to eligible brick-and-mortar for-profit and not-for-profit businesses located within the Little Haiti boundaries of the City of Miami.
Eligible businesses may receive a one-time grant award of up to $20,000 for commercial improvements (such as storefront improvements, building repairs, or ADA accessibility upgrades) or up to $10,000 for innovation and operational improvements (such as equipment, technology, marketing, or website development).
The goal of this program is to support the growth, stability, and expansion of small businesses in Little Haiti, stimulate local employment, and encourage economic investment in the community.
To be considered for grant funding, applicants must complete and submit the Small Business Grant application and meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the Program Manual. Businesses must be located within the Little Haiti boundaries and meet additional program requirements, including City of Miami registration and compliance with applicable regulations.
Applications are reviewed for completeness and eligibility. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
Placemaking Grant
The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust (LHRT) Community Education Placemaking Grant Program supports community-based organizations that provide free educational programs helping residents better understand and shape the places where they live, work, and gather.
Through this program, LHRT funds multi-session educational initiatives that focus on placemaking—a community-driven approach to improving neighborhoods by activating public spaces, celebrating culture, supporting local businesses, and encouraging community engagement.
Eligible organizations may receive up to $5,000 to support programs that take place within the Little Haiti boundaries and are free and open to the public.
Haitian Heritage Month
Chairwomen Christine King will be sponsoring events during Haitian Heritage Month. Approved requests are eligible for up to $7500.00. The exact amount of funding all will be at the sole discretion of the Trust administration and the City’s review committee. If approved, funding payment will be remitted after the event date.

Funding Policy
Through the funding policy, LHRT seeks to support initiatives that promote economic development, job creation, small business growth, affordable housing, community education, beautification, and improvements to neighborhood parks and public spaces.
Eligible organizations with a demonstrated track record may submit proposals for projects that align with LHRT’s mission and priorities. All proposals are evaluated for their potential impact on the Little Haiti community, feasibility, and alignment with LHRT objectives before being considered for funding approval by the LHRT Board of Directors.
